Rebuild / Retrofit
Rebuilds & Remanufacture
Why Rebuild?
"They don't make 'em like they used to" is especially true of many older "American Made" machine tools. For heavy cuts, low vibration, and useful life, these "made in the USA" machines are unbeatable.
- Most older machines are mechanically more robust with heavier frames than new machines.
- Less than 1/2 the cost of a new machine.
- Achieve new machine accuracy and part accuracy.
- Continue to use existing tooling and part programs.
- Operator and maintenance personnel are already familiar with existing equipment.
- Machine removal and reinstallation cost are eliminated.
Why Choose MMS?
Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions has expertise in scraping, rebuilding and remanufacture of most machine tools. We can do partial rebuilds (new components) or complete machine refurbishment.
- Rebuilds and other mechanical repairs done at your site or ours.
- Ball Screw rebuild and replacement.
- Grinding and/or replacement of ways.
- Turcite replacement and scraping.
- Bearing replacement.
- Spindle rebuilds.
Our goal at MMS is to assist our customers in maintaining machine uptime. Machine rebuilds are just one extension of that business. MMS also provides control retrofits with GE Fanuc and AB controllers, parts support for the entire machine, and tech support by phone and over the internet.
What if my machine is old and worn out?
Prior to the retrofit, MMS will complete a detailed inspection of your machine and submit a complete condition report including pricing for any repairs that are needed. There won't be any surprises, and if the cost becomes prohibitive, you can make that decision before you commit to the retrofit.
All MMS machine repairs come with a 12-month warranty.
Retrofits and Upgrades
Why Retrofit?
Retrofitting brings new life to your old machine tools and helps you increase the return on your original investment. The new generation of controls has capabilities that far surpass those of older controls, as well as allowing you to add accessories such as touch probes or rotary tables. The new controls also allow the utilization of Open Architecture software and DNC systems to your machine tools.
