MMS is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of CNC Laser Technician. CNC Laser Technicians repair malfunctioning manufacturing CNC Lasers and work to ensure machines run at peak performance.
Location: Kenosha, WI
Hours/Compensation: Full-Time, Shift may vary
- The successful candidate may be asked to work weekends and overtime on a regular basis, hours will flex as business requires.
- Starting wage range is $40-45 per hour. Starting wage offer will be based on candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety and environmental policies
- Respond to customer needs including, troubleshoot equipment, and identify parts and equipment to complete repairs
- Repair production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery
- Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, troubleshooting
- Experience working on electrical circuits with voltages ranging from 480V 3 Phase to 5V DC
- Communicate professionally with customer and fellow employees
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Required Skills:
- 5 years or more of maintenance experience in the CNC Laser field
- Intermediate to advanced electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic knowledge
- Understanding of core hydraulic and electrical principles
- Experience in CNC machine repair procedures
- Knowledge of PLCs
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
- Excellent verbal/written communication, and customer service skills
- Highly disciplined, problem-solver, logical thinking, troubleshooting with a strong work ethic
Applied, practical experience with:
Diagnose and repair:
- Worn or damaged ball screws and bearings
- Worn or damaged linear guiderails and roller packs
- Worn or damage gears or bearings in a gearbox
Check and correct:
- Out of square issues affecting machine geometries
- Skew
- Lost motion
- Machine level
Navigate or learn to navigate various machine controllers such as:
- Siemens
- Fanuc
- Haas
- Mitsubishi
- Mazatroll
Working on CNC Lasers such as:
- Mazak
- Okuma
Read prints or schematics such as:
- Hydraulic
- Pneumatic
- Electrical
- Mechanical
Use test equipment such as:
- Multi-meter
- Dial indicators
- Meg-ohm meter
- Machine level
- Machine precision square
- Ball bar analyzer
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The duties of this position will be performed primarily in a factory environment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:
- Communicate effectively
- Travel in and around a factory, office facilities and around the job site out-of-doors
- Safely climb and/or maneuver over, under and around equipment
- Use close and color vision
- Operate tools and equipment as required
- Lift or move 50+ pounds occasionally
