Less Downtime, More Margin

Most failures are predictable, and the cause is usually process, not metal. The RISE program trains your people to find and fix those causes. And you choose how we deliver it: in person, remote or hybrid, with the work done on your actual equipment. Here's what that looks like:

  • $465,886 returned. That's year-to-date, from 0.2 more packs an hour on one dry stacker at a lumber mill in Mississippi. RISE trains your people how to fix the losses hiding in your own equipment.

  • 4,879 minutes of unscheduled saw-change downtime, down to 1,800. A sawmill in Arkansas got there in a year by training one of its own. RISE is about six months of weekly coaching on a real project at your plant, ending in a University of Tennessee certification.

  • $16,000 to train one employee. Time is money, so let's start with being transparent. This price point not only puts one of your people on track to get certified, but also has them earn it by fixing one of your worst machines. Win-win.

If you can't spare someone for six months, you can host a transitioning military leader to run RISE at your plant for 3–6 months, through our partner Unturning Steel, a DoD-approved SkillBridge provider. The Department of Defense covers their pay and benefits, and there's no obligation to hire.

Still weighing it? Dig deeper by attending our FREE webinar. No commitment. In one hour, you'll learn:

  • Why the same assets keep failing

  • How reliability connects to profit and safety

  • What reliability excellence looks like

  • And more!

Certification, Earned on the Plant Floor

Curriculum built with Brandon Weil, Vice-Chair of SMRP, the organization behind CMRP.

If you’re searching for CMRP, then you're in the right place. With the RISE program, you get a free CMRP exam attempt and earn RMIC along the way. Exams certify what you know. RMIC certifies what you did.

Working with RISE gets you:

  • RMIC. Awarded by the University of Tennessee, delivered by MMS. You earn it through coursework and a 3–6 month project on one of your plant's worst assets, then present what it returned, in dollars, to a UT panel.

  • A free shot at CMRP. It's included in RISE. You sit the exam with SMRP, and SMRP awards it. On its own, the exam costs $300 for SMRP members and $470 for non-members.

Looking for CMRT? That's a separate SMRP exam for technicians. RISE doesn't include it, and SMRP is the place to go.

MMS RISE program participates talk about the program at graduation.

Need a Fact Sheet for Your Manager?

For engineers and reliability leads

Know More. Fix It First.

  • Be the one who prevents failures, not just fixes them. One participant at a sawmill in Washington made more than 40 finds in six months, worth $441,669 in avoided downtime.

  • Sharpen what you already know. At an OSB (oriented strand board) mill in Michigan, a participant learned to catch problems early with vibration monitoring, now worth $6,200 a month to the mill. Plus, coaching continues after you graduate.

  • A price you can see, and a case you can make. $16,000, published. At this level of program, MMS is one of the few that shows its price. We'll even give you a one-pager to bring to your manager.

Curious if RISE is right for you? Get the full picture in an hour, and bring your manager along. Webinar topics include:

  • Why your worst assets keep failing

  • How condition monitoring catches problems early

  • What you can start on Monday

  • And more!
